WHAT IS COSMELAN?

The Cosmelan treatment is one of the best depigmentation treatments for removing pigment spots in all skin types. Both pigment spots on light skin and pigment spots on dark skin.

The Cosmelan Pack is an effective combination of professional treatment at The Hague Clinic and subsequent home care. Thanks to Mesoestetic's revolutionary Cosmelan treatment, pigment spots due to melanin, hyperpigmentation or age spots are softened and removed.

This is how Cosmelan works:

Preparation: in order to properly prepare the skin for the Cosmelan mask, it is important that the skin is prepared with acids. The acids ensure that the dead skin cells are removed from the skin, allowing the Cosmelan mask to work better and reducing the risk of side effects.

​

Cosmelan mask: in the clinic the Cosmelan mask will be applied by the specialist. This mask will stay on the skin for 8-12 hours. You will go home with this  mask and must remove the mask from the skin yourself after the elapsed time.

Follow-up: we will schedule a check-up appointment approximately every 8 weeks so that we can keep track of the result.

​

At home, on the advice of the specialist, you continue with the home products that are included in the price.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY SKIN AFTER A COMSELAN TREATMENT?

  • The skin will recover and renew itself, new collagen has been created and the skin will become tighter, smoother and firmer

  • Reduction of wrinkles

  • Pores become less visible

  • The skin becomes healthier and therefore more resilient

  • Reduction of diffuse redness as in Rosacea

  • Pigment spots diminish

  • Stimulating blood flow

  • Thinning of the horny layer

  • Scars become smoother, less visible and more even

HOW WILL MY SKIN LOOK AFTER THE TREATMENT?

  • The mask is thick and has a mud-like texture and can sting and burn strongly. This is a normal skin reaction. After the mask, your skin may feel irritated, itchy, burning, peel and look red for a few days. By the end of the day, your skin will feel tight and some pieces of the mask will flake off, which is to be expected.

  • Once the mask has had time to do its depigmenting magic, wash it off with a gentle cleanser.

AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • You will visit us 2 days after the treatment for a check-up.

  • You will visit us 15-30 days after the treatment for aftercare.

  • We advise you to use nutritious products and moisturizing moisturizer for the first few days after the treatment.

  • Do not use make-up for the first 48 hours after the treatment.

  • Avoid the sun for 6 months (sun holidays and winter sports).

  • Protect your skin well with at least SPF 30, in sun and rain.

  • Smoking slows down the healing process.

  • It is very important that you do not scratch the skin during the process.

  • Avoid sauna, hot baths and sweating (sports) for 48 hours after the treatment.

SKINCARE AT HOME

  • Use of the home products starts 2 days after the treatment and only when the skin is less irritated.

  • First cleanse your face with a Mesoestetic cleanser.

  • Then use the Mesoestetic Cosmelan 2, a maximum of 3 times a day and gradually build up (1 time in the evening) to prevent side effects. After 4 weeks, a 2-day application is sufficient.

  • Then use the Mesoestetic Melan Recovery to soothe the skin, and in case of redness and/or dehydration

  • Then use the protective Mesoestetic Melan 130+ pigment control daily (only in the morning and during the day)​

  • These 3 products are part of the Cosmelan treatment and do not have to be purchased separately.
